1) Plum custard cake

  •  All-purpose flour- 1 cup
  • Sugar1 tbsp
  • Baking powder-1 tsp
  • Butter- ½ cup (unsalted)
  • Heavy cream-2 tbsp
  • Egg-1
  • Pitted and sliced plums- 2 ½ cups
  • Cinnamon- ½ tsp
  • Ground ginger- ¼ tsp
  • Ground nutmeg- ¼ tsp

For Custard-

  • Heavy cream- ½ cup
  • Sugar- ½ cup
  • Egg-1
  • Vanilla extract-1 tsp


  • Preheat oven to 350deg F and spray the baking dish with some butter
  • In a bowl, add the sliced plums and toss it with the spices
  • In another bowl, add flour, sugar, baking powder, butter, ½ tsp vanilla, 2 tsp cream and an egg and stir for a few seconds until combined and a dough is formed
  • Now press the dough on the bottom of the baking dish and arrange the spiced plums over the dough
  • Bake this for 20-25 minutes
  • Meanwhile, prepare custard by whisking together ½ cup of cream, ½ cup of sugar, vanilla and an egg
  • Pour the custard over the plum cake when baked
  • Bake again for 20 mins until the custard has set
  • Let the cake cool and serve

2) Plum cake


  • Eggs-3
  • Butter- ½ cup
  • Sugar- ½ cup
  • Lemon zest- 1 tsp
  • All purpose flour-1 cup
  • Baking powder- ½ tsp
  • Plums pitted and cut-1 ¼ cups


  • Preheat oven to 190 deg C and grease the baking try with butter
  • Separate the egg yolk from the egg white of all the egg
  • In a bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and set it aside
  • In another bowl, whisk the butter and sugar together and beat in the egg yolks and the lemon zest
  • Stir together the flour and baking powder and then blend the flour mixture into the cream mixture
  • Gently fold in egg white
  • Spread the batter into the baking try and arrange the plums on it
  • Bake for 40 minutes
  • Take out the cake on a cooling rack to cool and serve

 3) Plum Ice Cream


  • Plums-450 gm
  • Powdered sugar- ¾ cup
  • Water-1/3 cup
  • Vanilla extract- ½ tsp
  • Heavy cream-1 cup
  • Fresh lemon juice- ½ tsp


  • In a saucepan over medium heat, add plums, sugar, water, vanilla extract and cook for 5-8 minutes stirring continuously until plums are soft
  • Remove the pan from heat and let the plums cool to room temperature
  • In a blender, blend the plum mixture, cream and lemon juice until smooth, put a wrap on it and keep it in the freezer overnight
  • Serve
