Dinner parties are a great way to have a fun-filled gathering with friends and family and have a gala time together! But what makes a get-together most interesting is the delicious food and drinks that you would serve to your guests! But being a host, all you’d want is to not stick around the kitchen during the entire party and miss out on all the fun. Hence, it’s important that you prepare dishes which are not only savoury but also simple and quick to make.

Here are some lip smacking, easy and perfect recipes to try for your dinner party.

1. Spaghetti salad

Ingredients :

  • Spaghetti – 250g
  • Peas (frozen) – ¼ cup
  • Tomatoes – 10
  • Cheese – 100g
  • Pesto Sauce – 2 tsp
  • Rosemary -1 tsp
  • Garlic – 1/8 tsp
  • Chives – ½ tbsp.
  • Oil – 1 tsp

Directions :

  • Cook spaghetti in salted water for around 8-12 minutes
  • 2 minutes before end of the cooking time add in the frozen peas
  • Now in a pan, pour oil and add garlic, sauce, peas, salt and spaghetti and stir well.
  • When the sauce and other ingredients are combine well
  • Sprinkle with herbs, cheese and chives

2. Haleem

Ingredients :

  • Lamb / Goat meat – ½ tsp
  • Gram moong dal – 150 gm
  • Dal chana – 50 gm
  • Wheat (broken) – 100 gm
  • Desi ghee – 500 ml
  • Cloves – 10
  • Bay leaves – 4
  • Saffron – 1 gm
  • Green Chilli paste – 30 gm
  • Turmeric powder – 10 gm
  • Mace – 6
  • Green cardamom – 10 gm
  • Garlic paste – 50 gm
  • Ginger – 50 gm
  • Onion – 150 gm
  • Lamb / Meat stock – 3-4 litre
  • Salt – as per taste

Directions :

  • Wash and soak all the lentils and broken wheat together for 2-2.5 hours
  • Take a cooking vessel and add ghee to temper it with cloves, bay leaf and green cardamom after 3-4 minutes add grated ginger and garlic paste till the colour turns brown
  • Add the lamb / meat along with saffron, green chilli paste, turmeric powder and all the powdered spices and cook until its half done and then add fried onions
  • Now, drain the water from it to the lamb / meat along with lamb / meat stock
  • Add salt as per your taste
  • Let it cook until lamb / meat getssoft and mixes with the lentils and become thicker
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves, fresh chopped onions and lime

3. Penne alla vodka

Ingredients:

  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Onions (chopped) – 1
  • Garlic (chopped) -1 tbsp
  • Fresh cream – ¾ cup
  • Vodka – ¼ cup
  • Chilli flakes – ¼ tsp
  • Tomatoes plum – 1 can
  • Parmesan cheese – 2 tbsp

Directions :

  • Take a saucepan, melt butter and olive oil with onion and garlic until light brown
  • Now add tomatoes over low medium heat, stir frequently
  • Add cream, vodka and chilli flakes and boil until the sauce gets thick, season it with salt and pepper
  • Cook penne pasta in a large pot of boiling water with a tbsp of salt and olive oil
  • Transfer it to a bowl and bring to simmer, then toss the pasta
  • Sprinkle it with cheese

4. Kali mirch dum paneer

Ingredients :

  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Cloves – 4
  • Green Cardomoms – 4
  • Cinnamon – 1inch piece
  • Onion – 1
  • Paste of 1 tsp – Ginger, 1 tsp – Garlic, 4 – Green chillies
  • Curd – 3 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder – ¾ tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Cream – 2 tbsp
  • Paprika – ¼ tsp
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala – ¼ tsp
  • Coriander – to garnish
  • Mint leaves – to ganish

Directions :

  • In a pan, heat oil over medium flame and add cloves, cardamoms and cinnamon until its light brown
  • Add onion paste and cook well
  • Add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste. Saute
  • Add curd
  • Cook them well, and add cheese cubes and cream as well as ½ cup of water
  • Now, cook them over high flame covering the pan
  • After 15 minutes reduce the flame to low and simmer
  • Let it dry up a bit and garnish it with coriander and mint leaves.

5. Stuffed mushroom with tomato chutney

Ingredients :

(for mushrooms)

  • Garlic – 2 tbsp
  • Onion – 2 tbsp
  • White pepper powder – 1 tsp
  • Mushrooms – 250 gm
  • Coriander – 2 tsp
  • Cheddar cheese – ½ cup
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – as per taste

(for chutney)

  • Tomato puree – 1 cup
  • Onion – ½ cup
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Ginger – 1 tsp
  • Cloves – 1 tsp

Directions :

  • Wash the mushrooms and remove the stalks
  • Core the cap for the filling
  • For filling, heat butter in a pan.
  • Add garlic and onion for 1 minute and add salt and pepper as per your taste
  • Now cool the filling and add grated cheese and chopped coriander
  • Stuff the mixture with mushroom caps and bake in oven for 4 minutes ( 220 degrees)

For chutney :

  • Take a pan, add all the ingredients stated above and let it cook till the sauce is thick on consistency
  • Now serve stuffed mushrooms with tomato chutney
